The Gangajal is need no introduction. The main reason for its special importance is the unique quality of its water, which is remained potable almost indefinitely. The Mahabharata describes it as ‘white’ like milk, resplendent and ‘smooth like ghee’ and the ancient Indian treatises on medicine and dietetics from the Charaka Samhita.

Most Mughal emperors (including Aurangzeb) and nobles as also common Muslims besides some other Muslim Kings before and after the Mughals use gangajal as drinking water. This is affirmed by Abul Fazl who has recoded in the Ain-e-Akbari that Akbar used Ganga water not only for drinking, but also for cooking purposes wherever he was. This was not because of any feeling of veneration for the river by the Muslims, but because they gradually realised that its water had special qualities, the most important of which were its sweetness excellent taste and the absence of any stench in it mo matter how long it was retained.

Rich in rare Himalayan herbs and minerals, gangotri gangajal has miraculous medicinal powers for all round good health and especially for better digestion. Its consistent use cures several diseases and helps to build immunity in more ways then one.
